COMPOSITION OF WATERPROOF POLYURETHANE VARNISH FOR POOLS

Two-component polyurethane varnish, based on a hydroxylated acrylic resin system crosslinked with aliphatic polyisocyanates.

CHARACTERISTICS OF POLYURETHANE VARNISH 2 C WATERPROOFING

Indicated for the completion and protection of interior or exterior surfaces , it provides great adhesion and flexibility, as well as great hardness and chemical and mechanical resistance

WHERE TO USE TWO-COMPONENT POLYURETHANE VARNISH?

Flexible and transparent waterproofing  for all types of pools, whether made of: stoneware, tile, ceramic, sand pool liners, etc ...

It can be applied on tile or tile coverings, we recommend the prior application of a 2C EPOXY PRIMER FOR NON-POROUS SURFACES 

It can be applied directly, on coatings of concrete, sand, silica, or any type of porous support, etc ...

Recommended for the protection and decoration of wood, of all types of metal surfaces, and on some plastic or PVC surfaces, also on light metals (Aluminum, galvanized, glass) both for interior and exterior.

It can be used as a two-component polyurethane primer, for plastics or irons with difficult anchoring.

HOW TO USE THE WATERPROOF TWO-COMPONENT POLYURETHANE VARNISH FOR POOLS?

We recommend waiting between 24 and 72 hours, after emptying the pool, for a perfect drying of the same, before painting.

 And wait again between 5 days and two weeks, after painting or varnishing it to refill the pool with water, for a correct application. (The longer we can let it dry, the better). The maximum hardness of the product is reached after 7 days of application.

- The surfaces to be painted must be free of dust, grease and old paints or varnishes.

-If you have used salfumán or another type of strong water to clean the support or open the pore, you must clean the area with  cleaning solvent or soapy water, several times, to remove the silicones that these products leave on the surface and can repel the varnish.

- For non-porous substrates, it is advisable to apply a two-component epoxy primer for non-porous surfaces beforehand.

- Mix the two components in a 4: 1 ratio and homogenize the contents of the container, stirring thoroughly.

- The application can be done with a brush, roller or air-less. For the waterproofing of swimming pools, it is recommended not to use Air-less, to improve the adherence of the product.

- The first coat will be applied by diluting 25% with our Polyurethane Solvent; for subsequent coats it will be diluted approximately 10%.

- For the waterproofing of swimming pools, it is advisable to apply at least three coats, the third coat, also diluted to 10%

- To achieve good adhesion between coat and coat, do not allow more than 24 hours to elapse.

-Let it dry properly before painting and before filling with water (minimum 72 hours). We recommend waiting 7 days before filling it

PRECAUTIONS WHEN USING TWO-COMPONENT POLYURETHANE VARNISH

Carry out good ventilation of the premises and have a good extraction system.

Use an activated carbon mask, safety glasses and protective gloves during application.

Dilute the varnish appropriately as indicated in the technical sheet.

Do not apply thick layers, so as not to bleach the support.

Let the varnish dry between coats so that no blisters or bubbles appear.

We recommend not painting in the central hours of the day. so as not to cause a very fast drying when the support is very hot. (Best to apply first thing in the morning)

Avoid applying with a very high relative humidity in the environment or with pink, contact with water, prevents a perfect anchoring of the varnish, and can cause glazes. Substrate humidity must be less than 5%

It should not be mixed or diluted with any other product or substance as the basic characteristics may be altered.

Do not use on paints or varnishes that are not two-component, as it could remove them.
