COMPOSITION OF WATERPROOF VARNISH FOR POOLS

Colorless and transparent varnish, formulated based on thermoplastic acrylic resins in a solvent medium (solvent based)

ADVANTAGES OF SOLVENT WATERPROOF VARNISH FOR POOLS (THERMOPLASTIC ACRYLIC PAINT FOR POOLS, COLORLESS OR TRANSPARENT)

The Acrylic Varnish waterproofing to the solvent, penetrates in the substrate providing , in this way, very durable films , resistant to ultraviolet rays and abrasion.

Its most notable properties are to repel water, preventing it from penetrating into the substrate and allowing trapped moisture to escape to the outside.

WHERE TO USE THE WATERPROOF POOL VARNISH OR THE CLEAR COLORLESS POOL PAINT?

Recommended for the protection and decoration of all types of construction supports, such as brick, wood, stone, masonry, stoneware, mortar and for curing and sealing printed concrete.

Varnish for swimming pools, mainly indicated for the waterproofing and repair of swimming pools with low losses, where we want to visually respect the support.

Paint to repair and waterproof swimming pool glasses, where the cracks do not exceed 2 millimeters. (In case they are exceeded, we must first seal the fissures separately, with an anti-leak paint, with putty, etc ... depending on the support).

Varnish to waterproof the lining of swimming pools, Jacuzzi or reservoirs lined with sand, quartz or other aggregates, protects the lining, and supports the permanent filling of water, coloring products and maintenance of swimming pools, including salt water. 

It prevents the pool's sand liner from spoiling, having to be repaired and replaced every few years.

HOW TO USE THERMOPLASTIC ACRYLIC WATERPROOF VARNISH FOR POOLS?

APPLICATION TIPS

We recommend waiting between 24 and 72 hours, after emptying the pool, for a perfect drying of the pool, before painting.

 And wait again between 5 days and two weeks, after painting or varnishing it to refill the pool with water, for a correct application. (The longer we can leave it drying, the better)

-Remove the material very well, the surfaces to be painted must be dry, clean and consistent.

-The surfaces to be painted must be free of dust, lime, grease and old, well-dried paints.

-Clean well the stoneware of possible lime residues, so that when applying the waterproof varnish on it, it does not bleach and the lime residues adhered.

-If the surface is not very porous, it is recommended to wear it with a chemical or mechanical abrasive for the perfect anchorage of the paint. (Especially in the case of ceramic tiles)

-Homogenize the contents of the container by stirring thoroughly.

-The application can be done with a brush, roller (we recommend a roller with a hair pole)

-In the case of ceramic tiles and gresites, a first coat should be applied as a primer, with 30-35% more or less dilution with solvent, for its correct anchorage. A 15% dilution can be applied to the rest of the supports.

-The second coat, and it will be applied spreading the varnish well to avoid thick layers, diluted between 10% and 15% with solvent.

-In the areas where the varnish is applied, at least three coats must be applied, with an average yield of 5m2 x liter x coat, to leave a sufficient layer of resin to allow permanent water impoundment. It is necessary to leave these microns of varnish applied, so that the varnish does not flake and lift.


-It is recommended to apply a third coat diluted to 10% in the case of ceramic tiles and gresites, since the first coat has been applied very diluted as a primer.

-To achieve a good adhesion between layer and layer, do not allow more than 24 hours to elapse, but the layers must be allowed to dry well, to avoid the appearance of bubbles or blisters.


-Let it dry properly before painting and before filling with water (minimum 72 hours). We recommend waiting 7 days before filling it


 - The support must be re-varnished as maintenance, after two to three years of its application, depending on the external aggression that it supports, (it is not the same that a pool sweeper passes daily to that it does not have any type of aggression)

PRECAUTIONS WHEN APPLYING ACRYLIC VARNISH FOR WATERPROOFING POOLS 

Carry out good ventilation of the premises and have a good extraction system.

Use activated carbon mask, safety glasses and protective gloves during application.

Dilute the varnish conveniently.

Do not apply thick layers, so that the support does not bleach.

Let the varnish dry between layers, so that no blisters or bubbles appear.

We recommend not painting in the central hours of the day. in order not to cause a very fast drying when the support is very hot. (Best to apply first thing in the morning)

Avoid applying with a relatively high humidity in the environment or with pink, contact with water, prevents a perfect anchorage of the varnish, and can cause glazing.

It should not be mixed or diluted with any other product or substance since the base characteristics can be altered.
