NATURE OF THE 2C EPOXY IRON PRIMER WITHOUT TAR

Tar-free, pitch-free, or bitumen-free epoxy coating with high chemical and moisture resistance, applicable in thick layers (up to 150 microns dry thickness per layer). Highly resistant to immersion in water, including seawater, as well as to liquids or alkalis.

FIELDS OF APPLICATION OF THE TWO-COMPONENT TAR-FREE EPOXY PRIMER

Corrosion protection for components located in highly corrosive environments or subject to intense chemical attack. Especially suitable for painting components that operate submerged or buried: settling ponds, cooling towers, supports and machinery exposed to splashes and spills, ballast tanks, reservoirs, bridge decks, metal structures and buried pipelines, piles, submerged structures, wastewater treatment plants, etc.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE OF 2C EPOXY TAR-FREE IRON PRIMER AND PAINT

- The surfaces to be painted must be free of dust, grease and old paint by sandblasting or scraping.

- In highly oxidized metals, the corroded surfaces should be brushed, removing loose parts, and then the resulting dust should be blown away with a jet of pressurized air.

- Mix the two components in the proportion indicated on the packaging and homogenize the contents by stirring thoroughly.

On concrete, apply to surfaces free of laitance and properly prepared to ensure good adhesion. If the surface is porous, consult our technicians.

The tar-free epoxy comes in two separate containers, which must be mixed before application. Pour component B into the container of component A and stir until a homogeneous product is obtained.

Brush: for touch-ups only. Do not dilute.

Roller: Dilute with 0 to 5% epoxy thinner. Use a short-pile wool roller.

Airbrush gun: for industrial use only

Airless spray gun: Dilute with 0 to 5% epoxy thinner. Ideal pump ratio: 45:1. Nozzle size: 0.013" to 0.021". Nozzle tip accuracy: 180 to 200 kg/cm³. At the supplied viscosity, 150 µm dry film thickness can be achieved. By diluting with 5% epoxy thinner, 100 µm dry film thickness can be achieved.

Immersion: Not suitable.

As with all paints and coatings, application should be carried out on firm, dry substrates, at a substrate temperature 3°C above the dew point, with an ambient temperature not lower than 10°C and a maximum relative humidity of 80%.

CHARACTERISTICS OF THE DRY FILM OF TAR-FREE EPOXY PAINT

Flexible, waterproof, and highly resistant to chemical attack, especially acids. Withstands temperatures up to 100°C. Not for use on surfaces in contact with drinking water or food products.

SAFETY AND HYGIENE WHEN APPLYING 2C EPOXY TAR IRON PRIMER

The application should be carried out with ample airflow or using ventilation systems designed for this purpose. Standard personal protective equipment must be used to prevent ingestion, inhalation, or skin contact. Normal fire safety precautions must be taken during application.

Keep containers tightly closed after use.

Do not dispose of waste down the drain. Shelf life: 1 year, in its original sealed packaging and under good storage conditions.
