DESCRIPTION OF WATERPROOF BITUMINOUS PAINT

Single-component membrane, especially suitable for waterproofing roofs under tiles or final finishing materials, as well as wet areas.

Especially suitable for waterproofing large roof surfaces with protection using gravel or insulating slabs, also on walkable roofs with protection using a layer of mortar of sufficient thickness depending on the traffic that will occur.

It is used as an insulating intermediate layer between the foundation and construction works such as tiling, laying tiles, etc.

Green roofs and inverted roofs.
Waterproofing of ballasted car park roofs.

Waterproofing of wet areas such as bathrooms, shower enclosures, bathtubs, etc.
Effective protection barrier against Radon gas in accordance with CTE DB HS6, with a Radon diffusion coefficient of less than 10-11m2/s and for a minimum membrane thickness of 2 mm.

It is not advisable to apply more than 1 kg/m2 of bituminous paint per coat.

On walls, screens and vertical surfaces, a guarantee of 8 to 10 years can be achieved with an application of 1.5 kg/m2 (guideline consumption) for a recommended dry thickness of 1 mm, provided that it is protected with a drainage sheet and geotextile.

Touch dry: 2 hours at 20o C and RH less than 60%
Interval between applications: 24 hours at 20o C and RH less than 60%
Ready to use: 2 days at 20oC and RH less than 60%
Application: Airless spray, brush and roller
Thinner (cleaning): WATER

HOW TO USE WATERPROOF FOUNDATION PAINT

  
It is essential that the solid support is clean and dry.
In the case of stone or concrete surfaces, it is advisable to apply a previous layer of primer as a consolidant.
For metal surfaces, it is recommended to apply a water-based primer beforehand.
(If necessary, ask our technicians).

The product is ready to use. Application is done with a brush, roller or airless spray gun, and a fibreglass reinforcement can be spread over the first layer, covering the whole with successive layers when tensile strength is required.

Brush: Do not dilute.
Roller: Add 0 to 5% water, depending on the type of roller.
Spray gun: Not suitable.
Airless spray gun: Add 0 to 5% water.
Nozzle: 0.029 to 0.035”; Pressure at nozzle tip: 180 to 200Kg/cm2

  
Tools and equipment must be cleaned immediately with water. If the product has hardened on them, it can be recovered by soaking them in acetone or other strong solvents that soften it. Do not apply if the temperature is below 10oC and RH is above 85% or if rain is expected in the next 6 hours. Exposure to UV rays is not recommended.
When used as a horizontal waterproofing agent, on green roofs, car parks, etc., it must be reinforced with 200 gr/m2 Geotextile between both layers, to protect it from the other filling work established in the project.

CHARACTERISTICS OF BITUMINOUS WATERPROOF PAINT

Liquid system adaptable to surfaces with irregularities. No primer is required for application on concrete.
The final membrane obtained is continuous, without joints or overlaps and fully adhered to the support.
It allows the application of several wet layers without vertical sliding, it seals cracks and fissures. It does not contain solvents, it is a water-based product. Impermeability: Well-formed membranes without pores of at least 500 μ dry are completely watertight.
Elongation at break: >100% Membrane protection against Radon gas.

Application must be carried out with a generous supply of air or with ventilation systems prepared for this purpose. The usual personal protection elements must be used to avoid ingestion, inhalation or contact with the skin. During application, normal fire-fighting precautions must be taken. Keep containers tightly closed after use. Do not throw waste down the drain. Product is sensitive to frost, so it is recommended to store it in a dry, protected place away from the elements. Storage stability: 1 year in its original sealed containers and in good storage conditions.
