Slipperiness The concept was introduced in the CTE (Technical Building Code) from 2006, in the current DBSU DB-SUA (Basic Security Document Utilization and Accessibility).

This term is part of the basic safety requirements against the risk of falls and regulates the level of acceptable Slipperiness of floors in various fields of application.

To do Rd, slip resistance value, calculated according to standard test used.

The negative statistics on injuries in falls from slipping, along with the need to ensure the safety of people, have been modifying and upgrading standards in design and requirements of pavements.

The risk that users from falling, for which the soil will be suitable and prevent people slipping, stumbling or making mobility difficult is limited.

The basic objective of this requirement is to reduce risk to acceptable limits for users suffering immediate damage to the intended use of the buildings, due to the characteristics of their design, construction, operation and maintenance, as well as facilitate access and use for people with disabilities.

SCOPE OF THE STANDARD slip resistance

This rule applies to flooring Public buildings or residential areas, Health, Educational, Commercial, Administrative and Public Concurrence, excluding zero occupation zones defined in Annex A of the DB SI SI.

Mention that one has not already own and express slipperiness parking, industrial kitchens or industrial flooring, as if consisted in previous CTE. Class 3 is required, which remains a very safe pavement, our understanding was done excessively dirty.

We slip coatings to suit the needs of the pavement according to use.

Similarly, we remove roughness pavements where it is excessive, making it difficult to clean the floor. To do this, we paint resins suitable for both floors inside and outside.

Soil classification depending on their characteristics AND LOCATION

To know if a soil is suitable to the regulations on issues slipperiness, we must know the value of Rd. This value is only accepted by the CTE, other systems or rating scales still not covered.

Slip resistance (Rd) Class

Rd ≤ 15 0
15 <Rd ≤ 35 1
35 <Rd ≤ 45 2
Rd> 45 March

Location and soil characteristics Class

Dry indoor areas

- Surfaces with a slope of less than 6% 1
- Surfaces with a slope equal to or greater than 6% and stairs 2

Interior wet areas

Such as building entrances from outer space (1), covered terraces, changing rooms, showers, bathrooms, toilets, kitchens, etc ...

- Surfaces with a slope of less than 6% 2
- Surfaces with a slope equal to or greater than 6% and stairs 3

Outdoor areas. Pools (2) 3

(1) Except in the case of direct access to all restingido use.
(2) laid bare areas to users and at the bottom of the vessels, in the areas where the depth not exceeding 1.5 m
